Due to the way sharepoint onlines security works companies often have a locked down main site for the intranet and post news to another separate site with relaxed edit settings so users can post news on that site. This is so users cannot edit the main intranet site or see any edit options.
So what we tend to do is create an image button that has an embedded hyperlink that takes you to a "News site" landing page.. (Which is a completely different sharepoint site)
This used to take you to the "saved on this site" option: (Correction: "Templates" option)
This has our custom templates for posting news and we have a whole section advising users how to use these to make news posts on the intranet.
Now however this link goes to:
This breaks the whole flow of our website and the instructions on how to post and has created confusion for our users when creating news posts.
So is there a way to turn off this feature completely? Or is there a way to link to "Saved on this site" again. (Corrections: "Templates" option)
If you switch between the "From microsoft" tab and the "Saved on this site" tab the URL does not change so these appears to be no way to get it to default to "Saved to this site" like it used to be.
I've tried changing the promoted state number but that does not help either.
