Hi Stefan_Spinnler , thanks for your comments and your email! We definitely have room to grow on this feature, and appreciate all of the input we have been recieving here on how to do that.
1. We have liking on commenting from Outlook in our line of sight as something we would like to add for sure, so keep an eye out for that in the future.
2. Multilingual, in general, but specifically with these communications is an area where we can do better. We would love to have a communication experience where every recipient receives a distribution in their preferred language, without the need to send different distributions to different distribution lists.
3. We are actively working on getting inline video playing up and running, you can expect this one soon 🙂
4. I hear you on having this as a news only feature being limiting. We started here because we know that nearly all news fit within the web parts, we knew we could support in email, but couldn't confidently make that statement for pages, where they can be anything from an info page to a complex home page. Expanding is something we are open to in the future depending on the success of this feature for news.
5. We absolutely want to add more Web Parts to this experience and have more in internal testing that we are working on perfecting for general use. Thank you for your suggestions on what you would like to see 🙂
6. Audience targeting for this feature could be amazing, but also amazingly complicated to get right! Since you are more or less targeting a specific audience when you send this directly to them, we didn't include that functionality in our first feature release, but it could be something to consider for the future. It's more likely that you would find more granular distribution control like this in our Viva Amplify experience.
7. This is a really interesting comment about how these are created, could you tell me more about where you would expect this creation experience to show up?
8. Thanks for calling out this quick links bug- we should have audience targeting currently disabled for this web part.
Bugs:
1. I hear you on the quick links webpart looking different on the SharePoint news and in the email distribution. For webparts with multiple options for how they appear on a page, we sometimes had to make the decision to revert to one that was most render-able in the email distribution. You can see which web parts this applies to in our public documentation.
2. Could you tell me more about what you mean by an Ancor link? Is that just a link imbedded in the text? if that is the case, we would definitely expect it to work.
3. Because we are currently running an experiment on our new share experience (pictured in the screenshot), there are some customers who aren't seeing this dropdown yet and are seeing the "send as" experience on the left side of the command bar as well. This should result in no loss of functionality in this feature.
4. The placement of the email icon in the custom templates is intentional, but we would be looking to make it more similar to the built-in templates with future template picker updates.
Thanks for all the questions, hope this helps!
