We are excited to share a new episode on our partner showcase series focused on SharePoint in Microsoft 365. In this brief discussion and demonstration, Chris Alechko, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Cloudwell, and Pat McGown, Co-Founder at Cloudwell and Microsoft MVP, join Vesa Juvonen from Microsoft to showcase how Cloudwell builds secure, native experiences on top of SharePoint and Microsoft 365 using SharePoint Framework (SPFx).

Cloudwell is a long-time SharePoint partner focused on building purpose-driven apps that solve real workplace challenges while staying closely aligned with Microsoft’s platform direction. By building natively with SPFx, Cloudwell delivers solutions that are secure by design, leverage Microsoft 365 identity and permissions, and feel like a natural extension of SharePoint rather than third-party add-ons.

During the session, Pat and Chris discuss Cloudwell’s approach to solution design - why building on SPFx matters, how security and tenant isolation are built in from day one, and why a native user experience is critical for adoption. Chris then leads a guided demo of two Cloudwell SPFx-based apps:

  • Calendar Overlay – A flexible scheduling solution that overlays multiple event-based data sources into a single, intuitive view, helping teams make sense of complex schedules without duplicating data.
  • Staff Directory – A modern, searchable people directory that surfaces rich Microsoft 365 profile data to improve visibility, connection, and discoverability across the organization.

The demo highlights how Cloudwell’s SPFx-based apps inherit Microsoft 365 security controls, integrate seamlessly into the SharePoint experience, and deliver the performance, scalability, and trust customers expect from solutions built directly on the platform.
