We’re excited to share that Loop users can now bring Planner plans to Loop workspaces without leaving the Loop context, by simply choosing from their existing plans via the Loop / menu or Loop discoverability menu.

This experience enables users to view and edit plans via Planner boards embedded into the Loop host. Bringing a Planner board into your Loop workspace is easy:

  • Type / to bring the menu from which you can discover Planner or type / Planner.
  • Select Planner from the options.
  • You would be able to see your Pinned plans and all other Recent plans.
  • Click on the plan of your choice and insert.
  • You will see the Planner board embedded into your Loop workspace and you will be able manage your plan from the Loop workspace.

Here is an illustration that demonstrates how you can navigate.

As always, we welcome your suggestions for making this an even better experience. Feel free to leave a comment below with your feedback or ideas.

Paying more for premium planner plans... but can't use them within Loop.  While the basic plans CAN be used in Loop?  How does this make sense?  I need gantt charts with dependencies and I need to be able to use them in Loop. Please.

CourtBoda   yes exactly!!  Swapna_Ninan  please advise if there is a backend way to do this via Azure using an API.  Copilot provided me an answer but i'm not sure it's correct.  Thank you!

It appears that "New" Planner plans created as "Premium" plans (which I guess are really still MS Project "plans") aren't available to embed in Loop. We've switched to using mostly the "Premium" plan type via Teams so we can get gantt and dependencies, etc... would love to be able to embed in Loop too.

Is this something that will be fixed soon?

This all seems great, yet we are still missing dates when the new planner experience is coming to teams.  For last couple months there has been a notification "coming soon". Are there any known dates?

    This is great!

One thing I'm still confused on is how the Loop notes when in meetings incorporate into Planner. If I have one main Planner for a team and then I'm adding tasks from Loop meeting notes - how do those incorporate back into the main Planner for one source of truth?

It seems like an awesome feature, but as the PM, I want to be able to see all of my tasks in one spot.

If anyone has figured this out I'd be grateful for your help! 🙂

  • :light_bulb:I would like to see this Planner component let us choose to display a single task card. That would be useful for discussing the task on its own. We could add to a Loop page and use the page to share ideas, write drafts, coordinate steps to complete the task, list links to related resources and references.

  • This Planner plan picker makes it quick and easy to insert recent plans you are working on. Simple little changes to help us stay in the flow of our ideas and work.
