I have gone to the trouble of registering with this community for the sole purpose of adding a vote against the new Outlook search tool. I am not tech-savvy enough to describe its deficiencies with precision, so let me speak for the luddites among us. The former tool did the job. Really, really well. The new tool overreaches, providing more than I bargained for and fixing something that wasn't broken. I know what I am looking for among my own email messages; I don't need Microsoft to "suggest" nonsensical vocabulary (no, "design" is not anything like "signature." Stop!) or functions (if I wanted to search for a contact, I would go into "contacts"). The drop-down menu obscures the screen. The tool is unwieldy in both function and format. I don't trust the results. I have yet to read an endorsement of this "improvement." Perhaps I am too ignorant to understand the supposed benefit here, but to me, the King has no clothes. There, I said it.
