Stawsh All Outlook applications are to be replaced with New Outlook in time. Not just family or personal licenses and not just free mail on Windows 11+ PCs.
Outlook personal/family and Outlook365 for business are all to be replaced with New Outlook.
MS doesn’t want to build native desktop software. They want a web platform they can perpetually push new code to using web standards. This is webmail in a box. Like Skype or Teams, and a bunch of other things it is a one codebase to rule them all.
No one is being spared. It’s just a matter of when MS can claim they have full or nearly full feature parity with the current client. Then they will start compelling the move.
This application also requires that you give your email credentials for third party provider (ie Gmail) to MS and they will go out and grab your mail and serve it to you in the application. that gives them your data.
Web means a lot of control and access to data for. MS. This is the way forward for them for all users.
