I find it quite ironic that most of the "complaints" posted above seem to be from folks coming from the Microsoft 365 (formerly Office) Outlook mail client desktop application, while most of the PUSH form Microsoft was about The New Outlook replacing Windows Mail and Calendar (and People).
- From what I've seen, the idea that The New Outlook would replace the Microsoft 365 (formerly Office) Outlook has been only talked about here and there around the edges of the main messaging. In fact, I've never explicitly seen that said, rather only implied on, e.g., versions of Microsoft 365 feature comparison web pages.
There is now a toggle on Outlook 365 labelled "Try the new Outlook". I'd say that's a pretty big clue that MS wants users of the desktop version to try the new one. I did. It doesn't work for me. The fact that it doesn't support plugins makes it a no-go. I didn't get far enough to see if the other issues reported here would affect me.
