I've been using Microsoft products since Windows 1.0 and remember the days of messages that began with "the tree of evil bears bitter fruit..." But unless there are real changes to the final "new" Outlook version, we will be changing email clients and cancelling our MS365 subscription. The reasons are as follows.
- Lack of support for POP3. Our protocols require that email be deleted from the server once downloaded. POP3 was perfect for our requirements.
- Assuming that at some point, IMAP support actually works, requiring that email data be stored on your cloud, without an option to move it to local storage, does not meet our security/privacy standards.
- Currently, it does not appear possible to export contacts from the "old" to the "new" Outlook. I find it hard to believe that anyone experienced in updating software, thought this was a good idea.
- Exporting email data to local backup seems to be missing.
- Not unexpectedly, there is still no inbuilt support for OpenPGP encryption, however, it appears that "new" Outlook will not support com add-ins. This renders the new version useless to anyone who requires OpenPGP encryption for security/privacy, by using one of the currently available OpenPGP com add-ins.
Sorry that it has come to this, but you've rendered the product useless to us.
