Of course, the last day of January, 2024, Outlook has to throw one last monkey wrench in the mix before we start February. Unbelievable the number of issues I've had with Windows, with Outlook, and a brand new laptop that is actually a piece of trash. It seems this is probably Microsoft's plan, make everything work terribly, then make it fail prematurely, then people spend money again.
There has been a problem with Outlook for the past couple of years, where there is no File drop down selection in the top left corner of the page, as there was for I don't know how many years. But every time you do a search for how to perform a function in Outlook, the first thing you see is some form of using the File drop down menu, the one that doesn't exist.
As for today, I cannot save an email that I just received for my tax records. No matter what selection, or what app I use, the email never saves in any locations I try to save it in. The only thing I get in a folder, or on the desktop, was computer code gibberish. Why has Outlook been made to make your day worse than it already was? It used to be pretty simple to use certain programs, but I guess that wasn't good enough, they had to be made difficult to use.
**Well, here you go. This is the edited portion of my complaint this morning, just found what seems to be the problem:
"Currently, the new Outlook does not support the ability to open or save .msg and .eml files, you can switch back to the classic Outlook at any time by clicking the toggle button in the top right corner of the window.
The new Outlook is not yet complete, and some options may not be available or work as expected. Many features of our current products are designed and upgraded based on customers’ feedback. Someone has already submitted this feedback, you can vote for him: https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/9f993000-66eb-ed11-a81c-0022484f9f6d
So, once again, Microsoft competing with the gaming industry, putting products on shelves that are not even completed. And seriously, MANY features are going to be designed as customers tell Microsoft what they did wrong? What kind of @#$ is that? Customers are now developers for Microsoft, so why do they not get paid for that?
