I ended up with a new Windows laptop from Santa (though I wasn't looking for one), and even with a brand new laptop and the latest version of Windows 11, Microsoft still gave me the finger for Christmas.
There are still all of the annoying things with Windows I've been writing about in this community forum, and as of this morning, there is a new one.
Windows automatically assigns a computer name during the setup. There is a selection underneath the new name labeled Rename. I selected Rename, entered my preferred name for the computer, restarted the laptop, and it is still named what Microsoft named it. Of course that wasn't good enough for Microsoft, now they also have Rename greyed out, so it isn't even an option now. For a little salt in the wound, renaming isn't even an option when using Microsoft's Help menu. No version of renaming comes up when searching their system.
As usual, Microsoft has come up with a new way to upset their customers, and no one is in sight to get support from.
