I have worked in IT for many years and very familiar with mail systems and their setup. I have used "Old" outlook for some time and very familiar with it. On a few occasions I have tried to move to new outlook. With Old outlook I had 2 profiles, one for myself and another for my wife. We manage our own emails and each have our own pst file. Here are the problems:
- I created 2 email accounts in the same instance of New Outlook because there is no "profile" set up. The email accounts are not sychronising. There is no specific error message, no indication other than "This message has not been sent". There is nothing in the inbox. When I do sync, I get the message "Syncing" and then nothing. At least with old Outlook you get a meaningful message when things don't work. The only other message I see is "Something went wrong....". Really ? Is this just lazy programming. What went wrong ? How do I find the problem.
- When I click on a pst file which I have included in New Outlook, it does not display all the emails in the folders. It may only display 3 out of 50, or none at all. Completely random.
- I cannot import a .ics file into the calendar. The ics file was created with "Old" outlook. I have tried making the file a lot smaller as I had to do to import into Google calendar. New Outlook calendar just hangs.
After reading the article above, I guess its annoying that Microsoft is saying its faster and better. I would say its the worst ever release of software I have ever seen in my 40years in IT.
