To be honest, the new post in the channels should be a configurable item based on individual profile.
Rolling it out without warning and making it the default with no option to revert has been confusing and so far no one in my organization likes it. We've had several complaints that it was confusing and people thinking old posts are new posts.
I can't imagine why MS would make a major UX change like this and think it wouldn't be a problem. Forcing it on users is worse. Why would you do this? New posts do not belong at the top and you're breaking the user's already established workflow.
This smells of a MS VP thinking they know better than everyone else.
