Welcome to What’s new in Teams for May! We are excited to share all the features and innovation that we have made available in Microsoft Teams in the last month.
Before we get to the updates, thi...
Not sure if you are reading, but sometimes wish to see that you are looking for the features you have announcement earlier, and you do not forgot to hear what users think about those. Few examples:
The announcement for attendees when timer on the Breakout Rooms is going to be expired is 10s!! If you have not planned to give control for organizer to timer, then could you please fix it. E.g. having timer a dynamic:
1. Rooms less than 10 minutes, the announcement would be given 2 minute before it ends.
2. Rooms longer than 10 minutes, the time should be 5 minutes like regular meetings have.
The current 10s is useless.
Some time ago, you gave us an option to Pop Out the chats, but when can we Pop Out the videos as well? I believe you have seen people having two screens in-use when having Teams meetings. So being attendee, and having videos on one screen and presentation on next would be helpful. I'm asking this as you seems to not giving us a full screen mode for the presentation view. Do the math, and see how much waste of screen the current dynamic view is having when someone share a presentation, or an application.
Is there a reasons why you are hiding names from the together mode? If you have 30 attendees, and you like to speak with them with names, you might have a problem. Especially if you do not know them. How to know what is a person's name?
Would be interesting to see also when your math start working correctly. I have asked this several years ago already, but looks that some learning is still required. When getting the diagnostic logs with the Pray of the Four Fingers: (Shift + Control + Alt + 1), that gives an popup:
But when looking for the folder on my downloads, it looks like following:
At the same time I must say the log hierarchy looks promising finally. Big thanks to a person on your team driving this. Only what we are still missing from those, is possibility to read the logs. Especially those which are helping us to debug the issues (.blog). Just made one test: my pstn call was failing. Diagnostic logs gave to me 38 lines of logs related to my call-id, and none of those lines speak about the issue itself
