Hi Microsoft Teams and Microsoft, thank you kindly for this overview and update.
Centered more around- Certified Teams Rooms on Android, specifically as you mentioned above, the Poly G7500 and or the Poly Studio X52 etc.
We've seen an uptick in issues where we have asymmetry between Touch consoles and Teams Rooms on Android devices where the Teams App versions are not identical.
Basically, what we're seeing, there's a mismatch between the versions of the Teams App installed on Touch consoles and their respective Teams Rooms on Android, we're losing our previously set settings that were manually set and to help others understand those settings, listed below are options on how to view them on your MTRoA.
From the Touch Console -
Navigate to More - Device Settings - Admin Settings - (enter credentials) -
Teams Admin Settings - Meetings (And if you see here, there items turned on or off (but all this is managed per device physically at the moment))
- Show Meeting Names
- Allow Bluetooth beaconing
- Automatically accept proximity-based meeting invitations
- Allow remote control from personal devices
- Max Room occupancy notification
- Allow room to initiate Whiteboard
- Pro features - Show meeting Chat
- Extend room reservation
- Default Stage layout
- Third Party Meetings
My question centers around the fact if Microsoft has included in the Roadmap a feature enhancement either in the Teams App Client for these Android devices and or the Teams Admin Center to be able to manage these features as I mentioned above.
As these features and upgrades come down the pipeline, how are we to guarantee our systems will stay stable in that feature sense if there's no current way to manage their actual settings at this moment in time.
Would like to add - On the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, this specific
FeatureID: 121663 - "IT admins can choose the default meeting layout selecting Content only and Content+Gallery when content sharing begins. Standard, Premium, and Pro customers can also choose Front Row as the default layout."
How do we do this in a more enterprise environment for multiple "Teams rooms on Android" systems?
Thanks in advance!
