Microsoft continues to add advanced functionality without ever going back and "clean up" basic functionality that still isn't in the product. Chat is not receiving enough attention from Microsoft even though it is probably the most used functionality of the product.
- How do you turn off "Chat for yourself"? It should be a user preference. For all the functionality in TEAMS, user preferences is lacking configurability.
- Selecting partial chats and then Copy/Paste still doesn't work (reliably). This is Windows 3.1 functionality.
- Chats that I hide today, randomly come back the next day with no new activity. Then I have to re-hide them.
- I still can't drag contacts from one group to another. I still can't rearrange (contact) groups in "my order". I still can't use AD Groups as a contact (or at least not in my company I can't).
- When typing a person's name in the "search bar" at the top of TEAMS, there is no status indicator next to their name in the results. It would be "nice" to know if they were online BEFORE selecting them to chat with.
- User preference to: View as last viewed, Expand All, Collapse All for TEAMS, Chats, Contacts (essentially anywhere there is expand/collapse capabilities) should be added to User Preferences.
- When you send someone a file and you have already sent someone the file, you get 2 choices: Replace or upload a copy. Why isn't there a choice: Send link to existing file?
These are just a few of the Windows 3.1 capabilities that should be revisited in this product.
