Hi Microsoft_Teams_team - I have been testing this new firmware on our Yealink devices, and found some concerning issues. I have logged these tickets with MS PS:
- After signing out of the device, attempting to sign back in on device (not via computer) fails to sign in. Case #:25051549.
- Firmware update forces admin password change due to new complexity requirements. While I understand the intent to improve security, new firmware should not FORCE a change to the previously configured custom admin password. The last thing we want is people setting random admin passwords as it will make the device estate unsupportable. Changes such as this should be clearly communicated in advance so we we can prepare for them. Case #:25116783
And these I have opened with Yealink, as they are probably Yealink-specific:
- Exporting of config file results in error in exported text file (Yealink can repro and working on fix).
- New firmware introduces new time zone profiles. The original (previous) time zone profiles are not correctly mapped to the new time zone profiles so the time zone shows as empty / not configured.
I can't endorse deploying the March 2021 firmware in my org until these have been addressed.
