Can you please look into desktop sharing for linux?
Over the past year:
- The 'Memory Leak' Issue - There was, what seemed like a memory leak for at least half the year last year ... as soon as one started to share the desktop memory usage just climbed and climbed and climbed until the machine halted
- Not Sending Screen - The display just is not being sent to other participants, they report that things are either sometimes multiple minutes behind what is happening (despite audio being fine), or just being frozen
------
I run Debian 12 stable (wayland, gnome) on an HP Laptop with the following key stats
- CPU - Intel i7-10850H
- MEM - 32GB
- GPU - Quadro RTX 3000
- Screens -
- Internal - 7680x2160
- Monitor - 7680x2160
------
The 'memory leak' issue occurred using any combination of screens, and with any account.
------
The latest issue where it is not sending the video occurred using the second display as the only display over USB-C on either one or two screens, not been able to test further.
There are no bandwidth issues on my 1 gigabit (down - 512 up) connection video of me at 1080p was pristine, and there are zero contention issues, there, either.
Tests before and after indicate a FULL broadness of availability, including streaming in both directions and file transfer. Plus, within those test, other PWA applications (such as SLACK) have not exhibited the same issues.
