I have been using Teams pretty much since the launch. Frankly, I don't see the value in the PWA app, much less the web app. Like all of the O365 web app family it's a neutered POS that should not be considered corporate capable. I think for corp users who go from teams desktop to web the massive shift backwards in capabilities is incredible. Call it regression, call it enlightened Microsoft planning, or call it what it is: POS.
Rather than cater to the continuing bilious products that Microsoft continues to push, as an open source community it just might be time to re-imagine what their bread and butter apps actually could do if not tied to Microsoft. I'm not talking about emulating things that microsoft does. I'm talking about a complete schism with enforceable licensing that breaks their model. Meaning copying or using the code for them would be a serious litigious issue. We are already smoking proprietary AI and I see no reason to let off that pedal. There is no reason to be a supplicant to a corporate Jabba the Hutt. We are the creators and initiators of ideas. We're no one's second class citizens. We can come for Microsoft's lunch anytime we want to.
Perhaps Microsoft...it would be good to get serious about supporting this "second class" community. One day soon perhaps, we just decide it's not worth it and surpass the need for you.
