Win32 app == No benefits of having it in the Microsoft Store, IMO.

There is no difference between Teams in Microsoft Store vs. installing it manually, you'll gain nothing by "replacing" your existing install. It would just be a reinstall, essentially. Win32 apps in Microsoft Store is basically just a silent install wrapper for the regular installer.

What's the preferred way to replace an existing installation? Does just installing from the Store properly replace the existing version?

olavrb That's clearly not true, because attempting to install from the Microsoft Store always fails for me, while installing the normal download works fine.  :xd:

So was this the same as what they promised in 2021 about rewriting the app from the ground up, especially for Windows 11? (not electron, or something like that - I'm not a dev, just heard it's faster and lighter). They said they were re-writing from the ground up but have been pretty silent since then. I've still got this "Teams personal" app on Windows 11 insider preview but can't sign into it with work but supposedly that was the version or architecture that was touted as the new better-performing gold standard they were _bringing soon_ to enterprise/work accounts as well.  Anyone hear anything lately on that front?
