Great to see this communication today. Hopefully the updated themes will match what is available on MTR systems. I see some deprecated themes in TAC today and what appear to be some new themes, but still not matching MTRoW - e.g. no 'Purple Paradise'. Also, I assume we'll be able to configure the time until a room is released if no-one checks in. Either via a configuration policy (I do see an empty 'Meeting settings' section in the profile configuration page) or PowerShell - I've not seen any information on this yet. It's difficult to update end-user training and documentation without knowing exactly how things will look/work.
New Microsoft Teams Panels Update (February 2022 Update)
This update will introduce several new features and will be made available through the Teams Admin Center for Yealink and Crestron Teams panels devices. This update will be available on Logitech Panels at a later date.
NOTE: These features may have begun rolling out for some users in December 2021.
This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 86731.
When this will happen:
We expect to begin this rollout in early February and expect the rollout to be fully completed by early March.
How this will affect your organization:
The update will be available for users accessing Microsoft Teams panels and will include the following features:
1. Check-in and room release
• To help ensure your meeting spaces are getting maximum use, we’re enabling a way to “check in” to claim a room from a Teams panel. Users can check into the room by tapping the ‘check in’ button on the panel. If no one checks into the room, it will be released back to the room inventory for others to reserve and use.
2. Calendar layout update to combine consecutive available timeslots into one timeslot
• The calendar layout has been updated to combine consecutive available timeslots from an hourly view into a single timeslot. For example, the 12-3PM timeslot is now combined into a single timeslot to improve readability.
3. Wallpaper refresh
• The preset wallpapers have been refreshed in this app release to align with our Teams devices family. Note, the original preset wallpapers will not be available, with the exception of “Seaside Bliss” wallpaper.
What you need to do to prepare:
Please plan on updating all Microsoft Teams panels in your tenant to the latest version. You may want to notify your users about these new capabilities and update your training and documentation as appropriate.
