MicrosoftA request for a Public External Townhall came in. We decided to test it before saying it was good to go, despite this article stating that external event would be coming in Oct 2023. So glad we did. Our test shows that
external attendees can't see the townhall:
-on mobile device (iOS) as a guest in Teams. One user was let into to the TH, but there is no message, no video, no audio. Other user experienced spinning Teams logo, then asked to sign-in, but was unable to.
-on mobile (iOS) when signed in to a licensed Teams account.
Message says "Welcome to Meeting" but no video or audio is passed through.
-on mobile (Android) when signed in to a licensed Teams account.
Message says "Unsupported"
-on a Mac in Safari web browser as a guest.
Message says "Unsupported"
It does work in:
-Mac Teams application when signed into Teams
-Mac Chrome web browser as a guest or signed in
-Windows Chrome browser as a guest or signed in
-Windows in Teams app (win 10) when signed in
