So we have now tested Townhall a few times with our IT teams and members from our media events teams (we are a ca 100k organization). Some initial observations:
- No moderated Q&A available
- Presenters nearly always get logged in as attendees (>90%)
- When a presenter does successfully log in as Presenter they have all the permissions of an organizer
- No RTMP
- When presenter shares presentation - they no longer see the presentation (only a black screen)
- If presentation is shared by organizer centrally - then organizer cannot see the presentation
- No preview of presentation content before going live
- No adequate documentation and what is available online does not match product in current state
- Attendee report is a very simplified "report" and not a data file. Absolutely unusable for our event statistics in e.g. PowerBI or other BI tool. It also does not match what is shown in current online resources.
- Clicking to manage an event sometimes comes to the web page for the event - sometimes just a blank page in browser
- With five people testing and only ONE as attendee - we received this message when logging in: Due to the number of people who've already joined, your mic and camera are disabled. This should only come after 10,000 right? Or is it 20k? At any rate.... It shouldn't be 1 attendee, right???
We have a new session this Friday with an MS KAM to go over this list and other items, so I guess we'll be seeing how things behave with externals joining.
