The in-app guidance for this change is easily dismissed, and rightly so when you just want to get on with work and cant look at it right now.
It appears that very few organisations knew the change was coming. Those that knew formed their own opinions and didn’t help others to prepare and make an informed choice. Instead, people experienced frustration with a very significant change thrust on them at the beginning of a busy day.
I think we needed more time to raise awareness of the change. Better still, Microsoft should have added the option but not switch people to it as they were trying to quickly check messages.
I am a fan of the new combined chats and channels. I am not a fan of how it was rolled out.
