Although i agree with a sentiment that Chat encompassing teams/channels is confusing, but i can live with that, if it improves my workflow. On the surface this change looks promising, but if executed correctly. Which will have to wait and see, i guess. While at it, maybe we can also get rid of Activity menu? 🙂 One of my main gripes with current design is that if i receive a chat message, i have to click on Chat menu to see who messaged me and while i am there i do not see channels that might be getting new messages (i don't have notifications enabled and only rely on unread status, because this is a huge distraction with all the popups, activity updates, etc.). So, that Unread filter might be what i need, if i can actually live in there all the time. But sometimes i do need to go and chat with someone new or post in a channel a new message, so i would have to switch between Unread and regular view and scroll more to find required channel (i have 20+ chats in my Chat menu). Also, sometimes i want to visually scroll through recent chats to find one as i don't recall name of every person who contacts me. It could be still too much of plane switching and scrolling and not that much improvement from current situation. But i am actually interested to try this out. I would still prefer this to work like in Slack when there all unread messages, channels just go to the top and after you read everything you are back to regular structure without a need to hit any filters back and forth.
