mm446 I was able to install MTR on a standard NUC, you have to modify the scripts and have a touch screen monitor (highly doubt a iPad would work unless you were using remote desktop software) for the control device or leave a mouse and keyboard plugged in. I was unable to get a 3rd party HDMI input device to work, so you would not have the capability to insta-share content. Other than the satisfaction of succeeding in doing this I would recommend against it, it will break with every update because of the modded scripting. Really if you are wanting to save money just use a regular PC setup and make your conference room be a user account, but then you are sharing files and chats with anyone that is on that device later-on.
At the end of the day I bought a MTR setup and am please with it. There are a couple of things I'd do differently, like personalize the default screen layout when content is being shared, ability to participate in the chat and files shared to the meetings (on road map I think), having access to Edge and other MS apps, ability to unmute people, since users struggle with that etc.
