Most everyone commenting is upset about having 2 Teams apps, I hope I can shed some light here. Basically they are two different technologies. There is the existing Teams (Teams 1.0 if you will) and the new Teams that shipped with Windows 11 (we'll call it Teams 2.0). Teams 1.0 is the older but full featured one and is built with Electron/Angular. Teams 2.0 is the newer but not yet full featured one built with Webview2/React. The newer one should have some advantages such as more responsive UI, improved performance and less resource consumption however it's not full featured yet. Development is working on bringing feature parity to Teams 2.0 (i.e. it will eventually support work/school accounts among other things) and hopes to be complete sometime in 2022. For now the workaround is to have the two different versions available so people can still access their work/school accounts but can use the more modern version for personal use if they so choose. IMO the failure here isn't so much in the approach but more the lack of communication surrounding said approach.
Hope that helps!
