MicrosoftI sure miss AltSpace. Even now, nothing else matches what it used to offer for professional-style events in the Metaverse. I doubt my workplace will ever get me a locked down company VR headset to use with Teams.
MethosOhio, yeah, it's hard to get VR headsets onto corporate networks right now. But the good news is the "flatscreen" experience is still a really good way to get people started in VR so they see the value. I was in Altspace over a year before I finally bought a Quest and even then, I used it more for Supernatural than for social VR. I like my mouse and keyboard and monitor. 😆
Hopefully by the time everyone is realizing "OK, this immersive thing is actually useful", VR headsets will be further along the journey to be hardened endpoints that are easy to onboard and easy to manage. Until then, I found it was a lot easier holding events with everyone using the same access methods.
