I agree with the above comments from MagicHair and bdransf1 --
1 - Shared channels are not flexible (no guests, limited functionality compared to standard channels, cannot be converted to another channel type after creation, etc.) and most of the people in my large org trying to use shared channels quickly ran into these limitations.
2 - Cross-tenant B2B seems to be a much better solution, especially with the new cross-tenant sync functionality, for very similar scenarios (Mergers, close partner/vendor, etc.).
3 - The best solution would be to have Teams not require tenant switching, or vastly improve the cross-tenant Teams collaboration.
