These changes make the Teams platform harder to use. It introduces massive inconsistencies in the UI, and it now takes more time, effort, and clicks to make a post in a channel. Not only are posts now in an inconsistent order depending on whether you are looking at a chat or a channel, it's not even the same across platforms. The same account will have a different post order for channels depending on whether you are using desktop, web, or mobile app.
Channel posts used to work like every other messaging app on the planet (Discord, Slack, Zoom, FB Messenger, text messages), showing the most recent activity at the bottom. Now, to see the most recent reply to the most recent post, I have to scroll up to the top to get the most recent post, then scroll down to get the most recent reply.
Also, it now takes at minimum three clicks to make a post in a channel. You have to click the Post button, then you have to click the "message" area in the compose box, then type your message, then you have to click the Post button. This is WAY slower than how it used to work, where you could just click the text field that was already there, type a message and hit enter. For somebody like me who might post around 100 messages per day, this amounts to hundreds of extra clicks and dozens of wasted minutes every single day.
And who asked for the compose box to be the default for all new channel posts? My company (an IT support firm) has been using Teams for over 4 years, and we support client companies with hundreds of users on Teams. I have never met or even heard of anyone wanting the compose box to be the default text entry method for channels.
Please tell me at some point we will at least get an option to go back to the layout which was simpler, faster, and more consistent.
