Since its launch in March 2017, Microsoft Teams has evolved to become the ultimate hub for teamwork and has grown significantly in capabilities.  Teams delivers chat-based collaboration, meetings, calling, and enterprise voice features as we’re bringing all the Skype for Business Online capabilities into Teams.

To enable admins to better manage the various aspects of the service, we have started to roll out a new Microsoft Teams & Skype for Business Admin Center.
Microsoft Teams & Skype for Business Admin Center Dashboard

This new experience provides you with a unified experience to manage both Teams and Skype for Business and will also incorporate Call Analytics and the Call Quality Dashboard.
In addition to giving you one place to manage all aspects of the service, the portal provides administrators with additional functionality, including new end-to-end insights and the ability to manage Teams settings on a user level.

Manage Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business in a unified portal

In the first version of the admin center, the following capabilities will be available:

Microsoft Teams messaging policy: Create custom policies for messaging scenarios for your users.
Create a custom messaging policy
User management: Assign policies and configure your users.
Configure a user and assign policies
Microsoft Teams guest messaging settings: Control the messaging capabilities for guest accounts in Microsoft Teams.

Federation settings: Manage federation between tenants for Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business. (Please note that federation for Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business will roll out in stages and this setting might not be visible for you during the initial rollout.)

Audio conferencing: Configure dial-in numbers and settings for Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business.

How to get started

Starting today, we're gradually migrating settings to the Microsoft Teams & Skype for Business Admin Center from both the current Skype for Business Admin Center and the Microsoft Teams settings in the Office 365 Admin center.

The new admin center will be rolled out in stages over the next coming weeks. Once the new admin center is available for you, you’ll see a notification in the Teams settings section in the Office 365 Admin Center that will redirect you to the new Microsoft Teams & Skype for Business Admin Center.
Migrated settings within Teams in the Office 365 Admin Center

As part of this first migration, your existing General, Email integration, Custom cloud storage, Calls and Meetings, and Messaging settings in Microsoft Teams will be moved to the new Microsoft Teams & Skype for Business Admin Center. Please read the support documentation for more information:

Looking forward

In the coming months, we’ll continue to further improve the new admin center. We’ll add new functionalities, migrate additional settings and include information from the various tools. You can find more information in our documentation, the public roadmap and this blog once available.

To configure teams and channels, please continue to use the Groups dashboard in the Office 365 Admin center. The Apps settings will remain in the Teams settings area of the Office 365 Admin center and will be migrated to the new portal at a later point.

Let us know what you think!

Try the new Admin Center and provide feedback via User Voice or vote for existing ideas to help us prioritize the requests. We read every piece of feedback that we receive to make sure that the Microsoft Teams admin experience meets your needs.
