I am having a very different experience, sounds like! My form is owned by me, not a group, and I am given the option to
"analyze and explore up-to-date results in excel," which opens it in the web version of excel. Upon opening, the excel spreadsheets has a temporary message that appears "Synced with Forms: This workbook syncs automatically with changes in Microsoft Forms. (preview)" The excel sheet is located in my personal OneDrive. However, it is not updating. It did the first few days, but it seems to be stalled now. The "number of responses" on the form is larger than the number of rows on the excel sheet, so the sync is not up to date by a 4 or 5 days now.
Anybody else experiencing this?

Update: clearing cache, updating browser, and all the usual suspects had no impact. No change when refreshing the page either. However, I played around with filtering by date, and the updates finally appeared. Buggy, but at least they finally appeared.
