We’re excited to announce that Copilot Notebooks are now available to Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, and Premium subscribers in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app on the Web and in the OneNote app on Windows.
With this rollout, we’re bringing one of our most flexible and powerful AI experience to everyone, whether you’re using Microsoft 365 at home, at school, or for personal projects. It unlocks AI-driven productivity for planning, projects, and everyday tasks, all within the apps you already love.
What are Copilot Notebooks?
Copilot Notebooks are AI-powered workspaces that combine the power of Microsoft Copilot with the familiar structure of a notebook. They are designed for depth, exploration, and creativity. They let you gather content, explore ideas, and generate insights all in one organized place.
Bring everything you need for your personal project, including Copilot chats, Copilot pages, Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets, and more, into a single, focused space. Ask Copilot questions grounded in your collected content to get tailored answers, summaries, and insights.
Unlike traditional notetaking, Copilot Notebooks allow you to:
- Bring everything together: Combine Copilot pages, Word docs, PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets, PDFs, and even Copilot chats into a single notebook.
- Ask smarter questions: Get answers grounded in your curated content, not generic web results.
- Draft with confidence: Generate summaries, action items, and even full drafts tailored to your notebook’s references.
- Stay in flow: Access Copilot Notebooks seamlessly from the Microsoft 365 Copilot app or OneNote, so you don’t have to switch contexts.
- Listen on the go: Use Audio Overview to hear a spoken summary of your notebook content—perfect for multitasking.
Think of Copilot Notebooks as your AI-powered project brain that keeps you organized, informed, and productive. Whether you’re planning a trip, managing a project, analyzing data, or researching a complex topic, they give you space to think, explore, and refine ideas at your own pace.
How can Copilot Notebooks help me?
Here’s how you can use Copilot Notebooks in your personal life:
- Plan a Family Vacation: Add itineraries, hotel confirmations, and travel guides as references. Ask Copilot to create a day-by-day plan or summarize key attractions.
- Organize Home Projects: Gather design ideas, budgets, and shopping lists. Let Copilot draft a step-by-step renovation plan or compare options.
- Learn Something New: Combine articles, PDFs, and notes on a topic you’re exploring, such as photography or cooking, and have Copilot summarize concepts or suggest next steps.
- Prepare for Events: From birthday parties to community gatherings, Copilot can help you draft invitations, create checklists, and manage timelines.
