Hi, Microsoft 365 Insiders! I'm Todd Behrbaum a Principal Product Manager working on intelligent experiences that save you time and help your team collaborate more quickly across apps and services. I wanted to share some details about an exciting enhancement to Microsoft Teams that will help you create a synced Loop workspace for all the content ever shared in your meeting series chat.
Automatically aggregate Teams meeting content in a Loop workspace
Good news! No more scrolling back up and down in the weeks-long chat looking for that file that a colleague shared. Instead, you’ll have a Loop workspace where all the content stays gathered, and auto-magically includes future files that are shared in the chat!
Organizers of recurring Teams meetings will be prompted in the chat to create a Loop workspace after their meetings end. The workspace gathers shared meeting content into a central location and enables ongoing collaboration over time.
How it works
- At the conclusion of a recurring meeting for which you are the owner, when prompted, create a workspace, review and confirm the workspace members as well as the shared content.
- After confirmation, a Loop workspace is created, shared content is added, and invites are sent to the meeting members.
- Review, and approve or remove the shared files from the meeting series for addition to the workspace.
- Click the Create button.
Tips and tricks
- Workspace members can add other content to the workspace and can reconfigure the order of content in the left navigation pane of the Loop app.
- During the workspace creation process, the meeting organizer is able to review the workspace name, and the membership for the new Loop workspace (which is pre-populated with all the invitees of the meeting series).
- Content added to the workspace during the initial workspace creation includes all content shared in the meeting chat but excludes text chat and web links.
- Once the Loop workspace is created, you can access it in several ways:
-
- View the workspace in the Loop app
- Click the Open in Loop workspace link in the Teams meeting chat
- Open the message you received as workspace member and click the I added the meeting content to a Loop workspace. Check it out! link.
Requirements
- See the requirements section of Manage Loop workspace experiences in SharePoint Embedded
- Licensing requirements are listed in Loop access via Microsoft 365 subscriptions
Known issues
- This feature is available for recurring meeting series with 2-50 invitees. This limit will be extended in the future, as well as support for Modern Groups.
- The prompt to create a Loop workspace will only appear for organizers - not for co-organizers or non-owners of meetings. There are plans to empower others in the future.
Frequently asked questions
- Is there a minimum duration of the meeting for the prompt to appear?
No minimum duration requirement. The prompt to create a Loop workspace will appear for the organizer for all recurring series meetings. - Will the prompt notification also appear in tenants where Loop workspace creation is disabled?
On tenants where Loop workspace creation is disabled, the prompt will not be shown. - Can the organizer determine what type of content is added automatically to the workspace on following meetings?
Not currently, as all shared content in the chat will be automatically added.
Watch it in Action

Availability
This feature is currently available to all Teams users on Windows, Mac, and the web.
