This guide is intended to help organizations get started with the eDiscovery APIs using application authentication and to programmatically download export packages via the APIs.

Version 1.0Microsoft licensing can be quite complex, particularly given the wide range of product variations. The transition between "classic" and "new" versions can add to the confusion, especially when licensing documentation doesn’t reflect these changes in real time.
Just to confirm my understanding of your comment regarding prerequisites: “Currently, the eDiscovery APIs in Microsoft Graph only work with eDiscovery (Premium) cases.”
Does this mean that to access the APIs, we either need to use the “pay-as-you-go” model for the new Purview, or upgrade all users to at least an E5 Compliance license?
Is there any plan to make API access available for the free version in the future?
