On October 14, 2024, the Paraguay government made an official announcement that Paraguay will permanently stay in Daylight Saving Time (DST) or UTC-3.

The impact of this change is as follows:

  • Clocks will not advance by 60 minutes at 12:00 AM on March 23, 2025, for the Paraguay time zone.
  • Paraguay will permanently stay at UTC-3 and will be referred to as Paraguay Time (PYT) all year.

Microsoft is releasing the below Windows updates in support of this decision. This change is available in the February 2025 non-security preview update, released on February 25, 2025, for the newer versions of Windows 10 and 11. All other supported Windows versions will receive the update as part of the next monthly quality update scheduled for release on March 11, 2025.

All Windows updates containing this fix have the following release note text:

“This update supports (DST) changes in Paraguay."
