Lesson Learned #383: Loading multiple extended file using sys.fn_xe_file_target_read_file

It is easier to read event file when they are at rest.

It is another matter to read them in a continous mode. I'm trying to implement a stored procedure that reads in a loop the results, process them, and read next stuff.

I read in the doc that you must supply a wildcard, a file name, and the offset reached.

The doc. doesn't explains, if once a file newer is returned in the result, all files before are considered inactive. This is what I expected.  I'm going to have to prooves it.
