General availability for Sybase Code Conversion Copilot and Managed Endpoint authentication, an updated model lineup, and DMS connectivity fixes

We're pleased to announce the release of SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA) v10.6, taking two key AI-assisted modernization capabilities to general availability and refreshing the model choices available for customers who bring their own Azure OpenAI deployment.

This release focuses on graduating Copilot-assisted code conversion to GA, making the managed authentication experience production-ready and predictable, and addressing customer-reported connectivity issues.

Here is a high-level overview of the features shipped as part of SSMA v10.6:

1. Code Conversion Copilot in SSMA is now Generally Available for Sybase

(SSMA for SAP ASE)

Code Conversion Copilot in SSMA is now generally available for SSMA for Sybase. What was previously available as a preview capability is now fully supported, so customers running Sybase modernization projects can adopt Copilot-assisted code conversion for production migrations with confidence.

2. Managed Endpoint Authentication is now Generally Available

(SSMA for Oracle and SSMA for SAP ASE)

The Managed Endpoint authentication method has also reached general availability. Managed Endpoint remains the quickest way to get started with Code Conversion Copilot, and customers who prefer to use their own Azure OpenAI deployment can continue to use the Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) authentication method.

3. Usage Limits Introduced for Managed Endpoint Authentication

(SSMA for Oracle and SSMA for SAP ASE)

To prevent misuse of the Managed Endpoint service and keep it responsive for all users, we have introduced the following limits:

Limit

Value

Source script

Fewer than 16,000 tokens per request

User prompt

Fewer than 2,000 tokens per request

Customer request rate

15 requests per minute

Customer request volume

7,200 requests per 8-hour period

Aggregate service rate

75 requests per minute across all users

Customers whose workloads require throughput beyond these limits can continue to use the Bring Your Own Key authentication method.

4. Updated Model List for Bring Your Own Key Authentication

(SSMA for Oracle and SSMA for SAP ASE)

We've refreshed the models available for Code Conversion Copilot for Oracle and Sybase when using Bring Your Own Key authentication:

  • Added / supported: gpt-4.1, gpt-5.4-mini, gpt-5.5, gpt-5.6-terrra
  • Removed: gpt-5.4

If you're currently using gpt-5.4 in a BYOK configuration, update your model selection in SSMA to one of the supported models above after upgrading.

5. Additional Fixes and Improvements

SSMA v10.6 also includes the following fix:

  • Resolved DMS authentication failures caused by duplicate Azure subscription names, which previously affected customers with more than one Azure subscription sharing the same name.
