Hi All, We have two Windows Server 2019 File Servers, AD-DCs, DFS. On both servers, Windows Search feature is installed, the service set to automatic and started. On both servers, I added local drives which host shares to the search index. The servers are in different sites, connected by VPN. Clients access the servers only via mapped drive letter to the server-name, never using a DFS name. On one of both servers, one share's search function is not working. Not when queried from the client, not when queried from the server using a mapped drive. The search is working on the server when searching on the local drive where the share is hosted. The share is the only data on that local drive. The share which is not working on one of the servers is the only share that is replicated using DFS to the other site. As mentioned above, the mapped drive is only mounted using the sites server name, NEVER the DFS name. I can't figure out why this specific share is not working on one of the servers. I can't find where to look for errors. Nothing to find in the event-log, no useful log files I know of. How do I best troubleshoot this problem? Is there a way to activate verbose logging for the indexing service? Thanks a lot for your help! Thomas1.4KViews0likes1Comment"Please wait for Windows Search" when logging off
Hi, We use FSLogix, Azure Premium File Share, and high powered skus for the vms. When my users log out, it hangs at "Please wait for Windows Search" for up to 8 minutes before finally logging out. Also, Outlook randomly crashes with a Windows Search error. I have had a premier ticket opened for over a week with no traction so I'm reaching out here. Hoping someone can help!24KViews0likes5CommentsIndex and Windows Search not working
Hello, I am on build 22000.469. The index engine does not work. More precisely, it is often in pause, and when done it is as if it had to index again all my files etc. When I run the "index and windows search utility" I am told that there are incorrect authorizations on the Windows search service. Any idea of what is going on? I have the same problem on two computers. I already did a clean reinstall which only temporarily solved the issue. UWP app names don't show up in the Windows search results in Windows 10 build 19541 when I search for any of the installed UWP apps, I can't find them. doesn't matter If the app was preinstalled or I installed it from store. only Win32 programs show up in the search results. only these app names show up in the search results: (mail, calendar, calculator) my search indexing is set to enhanced if that's relevant.
