We just upgraded our Windows Admin Center install and I accidentally checked the "Use WinRM over HTTPS only" setting during the update / prior to configuring our hosts for that feature. We want to use this, but need more time to troubleshoot roll-out. Is there a line command or anything that will allow me to undo that setting? I know if I run setup again I can (for example) change SSL thumbprint, but that setting to "Use WinRM over HTTPS only" is not available in setup again for toggling. Thanks!Solved48KViews3likes9CommentsCan't connect/Find servers in Windows Admin Center 1909
I've installed Windows Admin Center 1909 on Windows 10 build 18985, set it to only use HTTPS connections and set the custom port 6666 for it. then I followed this guide: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/113966-windows-admin-center-centrally-manage-all-your-windows-10-pcs.html now I am having problem even managing my own computer (Not domain joined), let alone the Windows Server 2019 (domain joined) which is running on Hyper-V VM on my computer. I enabled Enable-PSRemoting on Windows server 2019 and on my computer as well. still when I type in the IP address of the server in WAC, it doesn't find anything.Solved19KViews1like6CommentsTraditional Failover Clustering in Azure
Last month I presented a session during the “Windows Server webinar miniseries - Month of Cloud Essentials”. The session was on how to create highly available apps with Azure VMs. Following the session I was asked about setting up traditional Windows Server Clusters. This article will cover some news regarding new capabilities to deploy traditional Failover Clustering in Azure.16KViews3likes0CommentsWindows Admin Center needs a Group Policy Extension for GPMC
That's one of the important things that is missing in WAC 1907. even if not as part of the main features, make it available as an extension to optionally install it whoever needs it. Then, Microsoft can expect people to move from RSAT to the new WAC.16KViews6likes4CommentsIIS extension is not working - WAC 1909
IIS is running and working on my Windows Server 2019 LTSC. on WAC 1909, I installed IIS extension, then when I click on it it asks me to install IIS administration on my server clicked on the install, waited few minutes, restarted my server, restarted WAC, logged back in, then I get this error: "Unknown error has occurred when trying to initialize Web Server Module: "The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized." Am i missing something or is this a bug? thanksSolved13KViews0likes11CommentsCan't connect to Hyper-V Converged Cluster
I've raised a bug here - https://windowsserver.uservoice.com/forums/295071-management-tools/suggestions/37729852--bug-can-t-connect-ti-hyper-v-converged-cluste I've installed Windows Admin Center with high availability following https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/manage/windows-admin-center/deploy/high-availability. I can connect to nodes in the cluster fine through WAC, however when I try to add the cluster it says it can't find the name. If I click on one of the nodes it gives the FQDN of the cluster, I click it and it adds it as a connection but when I try to access it, it complains that WINRM couldn't not process the operation. I've tried it with two different clusters on our network. Any ideas?4.4KViews0likes2CommentsDeploy and Install Windows Admin Center in an Azure VM
The great thing about Windows Admin Center (WAC) you manage every Windows Server doesn't matter where it is running. You can manage Windows Servers on-prem, in Azure or running at other cloud providers. Now if you want to use Windows Admin Center to manage your virtual machines running in Azure, you can use either an on-prem WAC installation and connecting it using a public IP address or a VPN connection, or you can deploy and install Windows Admin Center in Azure. This blog post will show you how you can deploy and install Windows Admin Center in an Azure virtual machine (VM). I don't think it's a known issue, didn't see anything about it in here Neither Google chrome, nor Edge insider can load the components section of Packetmon extension in WAC 1909. I even waited several minutes and all I saw was loading icon circling. I'm connected to a Windows server 2019 data center edition virtualized on Hyper-V, through a SSTP VPN connection. so because I'm trying to manage my virtual server from a non-domain computer, I have to first use a VPN to connect to the server's private network and then I am able to type in the private (local) IP address of the server in the WAC and add it to the list of servers to manage.Solved3.5KViews0likes2CommentsDoes Windows Admin Center protect Domain Administrator passwords
I would like to manage my core Windows 2016 domain controllers using Windows Admin Center. As I can't install WAC on a domain controller, I must use my PC or a nearby server. My question is whether I am exposing my domain admin credentials accessing these core domain controllers while using WAC? How is the password protected and disposed of after my WAC session ends? Thanks for your advice.Solved3.4KViews0likes5CommentsWindows Admin Center Custom URL
