I am on the beta channel of the Windows Insider Program for Windows 11 update but for the past 2 weeks, I have been facing issues with the start menu and settings. They don't open at all, I tried opening settings with CMD but I get "File system error(-805306367)". I did try reverting back updates using Advanced Startup Options Menu in Windows 11 but got another error. Couldn't find any other way to fix this. Need help ASAP. PS: No shortcuts related to Windows key work except Win+R.9.9KViews0likes2CommentsWindows 11: Remove search bar from Start menu
Remove search bar from Start menu, the search icon and all of its feature are already available next to start button There is no need to show search bar at the top of Start menu, keep it simple. the search functionality and icon is there right next to the start menu, with all of its features, don't need to duplicate it on start menu. keep start menu simple. Currently when Microsoft Edge is pinned to the Start Menu the name appears only as 'Edge' (the ShortDisplayName inVisualElementsManifest.xml). Everywhere else I've looked the application is always referred to as 'Microsoft Edge' in full (taskbar name, documentation, application menu etc..). I'm just wondering if this could be considered a bug? Or is this behavior intended? Thanks1.1KViews2likes0CommentsWindows 11 start menu not clickable
When the taskbar is centered i can't click inside the start menu but if i place it on the left, it is possible. Then the terminal had the same problem, if i place it on the center i can't click but i can in the left. It's like something is blocking the screen center. The problem only happens with this programs, it is very weird. I attached a video. The problem goes away if i only enable the second display and then only enable the primary display.3.5KViews1like4CommentsLet us open Start menu by a swipe-up gesture from Start menu button
Let us open Start menu by a swipe-up gesture from Start menu button, so when you put your finger on the Start menu and swipe up, the Start menu will open, this is in addition to tapping on it. Hi, First of all, the search bar at top of the start menu is a good idea imo, but now, its closes the start menu and opens the search tab. Start menu closes, new search window opens, they do not have the same size, there is always a closing and reopening effect going on. I think thats not a good user experience. I wanted to share some opinions: It would be better if the that transition happens without closing the start menu and reopening the search menu. Some quick resizing animation like expansion shrinking would make that transition better imo. Second one is the functionality of the search bar at top of the start menu. Currently it does not have a filtering or searching in quick start apps or on all applications context. It would be wonderful if the search bar filters the the applications in the all applications or quick start apps menu, rather than opening the search window from scratch. demonstration on youtube448Views0likes0Comments[Build 21343] - Start menu search issue
Hello, I have an issue since I installed the build 21343. 1) When I press Windows button and start typing a word, I have the search window which appear but nothing in, only the border. 2) Sometimes, the search does not find my application (ex, I type "calc" and it want to search for a folder or a network search instead of the application). Am the only one who have this issue ?Solved1KViews0likes4CommentsFeature request for (very) wide screen setups
There are many jobs for which a ultra-widescreen display is best suited. I recently got a 49" monitor with a 32:9 aspect ratio (5120×1440 screen res.), which I love. The PowerToys FancyZones Editor is a huge help to use, but there would be something else that could help a lot in everyday use. The problem is that when placed at arm's length, even though it is curved, the two edges of the monitor are still very far away. The Start Menu appears on the far left side of the screen, and notifications appear in the lower-right corner. The latter are sometimes simply obscured by the frame of my glasses. The solution could be a setting that allows users to center their items on the Tray. Start Menu icon could be in the middle, other items on it's two sides and messages/notifications could appear at the lower center part of the screen. I think many traditional-screen users would welcome this development. Here is the original arrangement on a 32:9 screen and my suggestion: I hope you see an opportunity to implement this feature.741Views0likes0CommentsLet us right-click and Ungroup a folder of tiles in Start Menu
There is no easy way to ungroup a folder in Start menu, the only way to break the folder or group is to manually drag and drop every icon from the folder/group to somewhere else in Start menu. there needs to be an option in right-click menu so that we can ungroup a folder with 1 action.
