5 TopicsMeasuring KPIs like Response Times for Shared Mailboxes
Shared mailboxes are not CRM systems. However, many Microsoft 365 tenants use shared mailboxes to handle customer queries and then want to measure KPIs such as agent responsiveness to customer queries or the number of queries handled per agent in a month. As explored in this article, it’s possible to use the Microsoft Graph and PowerShell to extract some KPI-like data from shared mailboxes. https://office365itpros.com/2026/03/05/shared-mailbox-kpi/23Views0likes0CommentsUnexpected Microsoft Defender for Office 365 License Requirement for Shared Mailboxes
A question about shared mailboxes brought up the topic of licensing requirements when a tenant has Microsoft Defender for Office 365 (MDO). The news is not good. Once MDO is active, every shared mailbox needs an MDO license, and every user mailbox must also be licensed for MDO (those with E5 licenses are covered). At $5 per month, those MDO licenses can ramp up to a considerable cost. Ouch! https://office365itpros.com/2025/08/11/microsoft-defender-for-office-365/644Views0likes0CommentsOn-prem shared mailbox access in hybrid Environment
Migrating user's mailboxes from exchange 2016 on-prem to exchange Online in Hybrid configuration. What is the best approach regarding the shared-mailbox present on-prem ? Users migrated to exchange online lost access to the shared mailbox, outlook removed the shared mailbox from profile, until the shared mailbox is not migrated as well. Is there a way to have the migrated users still able to access the on-prem shared mailbox ? thanks SCSolved241Views0likes1CommentComparing Outlook Groups to Shared Mailboxes (2022 Edition)
Outlook groups and shared mailboxes both help small teams work with shared email. The decision as to which to use depends on the exact needs the team has. Some recent changes made by Microsoft to allow users to create new folders and rules in group mailboxes might tilt the decision towards group mailboxes, but shared mailboxes still offer lots of potential. https://practical365.com/outlook-groups-vs-shared-mailboxes/833Views1like0CommentsUnable to delete Shared Mailboxes
