share screen
3 TopicsTeams Desktop App version share only black screen for widescreen. Works on other desktops.
Software Teams: 1.3.00.2879 Windows Monitor LG 38wk95c in 3840 x 1600 resolution. Problem: When I share my desktop, the other users see a black area. Background tests: 1) The Browser version of teams CAN and DOES manage to share the desktop properly, full 5k no problem. WEB VERSION works fine for wide-screen share. (Web version has other weaknesses). 2) If the monitor resolution is set to 1920x1080, classic 2k, then the desktop app share works. I have tried experimental mode on and off. I have cleared every cache possible. Reinstalled teams. Nothing helps. This is definitely a bug with sharing WIDESCREENS. When using 2 4k monitors , i can successfully share a desktop. But if i use a 5k monitor. Then only black screen appears at the other end. It could be a bug in TEAMS on the recipient display process of course. But why does a 4 k monitor work and 5k not. Especially when the web version can. This is a major usability issue since you can not quickly share different windows in TEAMS and the web version drops device settings. Im losing 20 to 30 mins a day restarting browser, flicking from Web version to App version. I love the wide screen for everything else. But teams is a disaster on widescreens. Very happy to demo to support team.4.7KViews0likes1CommentThere's no windows options to share
Hi, Im trying to share a powerpoint presentation and i want to use the moderator mode, so i know that I have to share my screen with WINDOWS, not with desktop and not with Powerpoint. But in Windows there's only one option, it looks like i only have TEAMS opened (and i have my ppt opened). I have a Mac, so i dont know if it matters. Hello, A few teachers and I have been experiencing this annoying problem when we want to share screen with our ipads: We are using the share screen feature almost every lesson to show students how to solve a Maths problem. However, out of the blue, the share screen did not work. We kept on getting a notification from our ipads about the Control Centre setting, to include the screen recording - which has been on and is still on. So we figured out that if we reinstall the Teams app, this problem can be solved. However, now this problem appears far too many times, and we have to reinstall the app again and again. Sometimes a few times in a day. It is so annoying. We tried to find a more permanent solution for this, because the problem had occurred during online lessons too, which was our major problem. Did anybody else experience this problem? A long term solution would be very helpful. Our IT Support doesn't know why it happened and doesn't have any solution. Regards, Debby976Views0likes0Comments
