CosmosDb multi-region writes and creating globally unique value
Hi! I am trying to understand how to deal with conflicts when using multi-region writes. Imagine I am trying to create a Twitter clone and I have to ensure that when a user creates an account, it also select an unique user handle (a unique key like username ). In a single region I would just have a container with no indexing and then create that value as a partition key, if I succeed it means that there was not another handle with that value and from this point nobody else will be able to add it. But when thinking in multi-region writes, two persons in different regions could indeed add the same handle. Then the conflict resolution strategy would need to deal with it. But the only conflict resolution possible here is to delete one of them. But this is happening asynchronously after both persons successfully created their accounts, so one of them would get a bad surprise the next time they log in. The only solution would be to have this container in an account with a single write region, and although the client could do a "tentative query" to another read-only region to see if a given handle is already taken, in the final step to actually take it I must force the client to do the final write operation in that particular region. Consistency levels here only help to define how close to reality is the "tentative query", but that is all. Does this reasoning make sense? Many thanks.
Categorize services in Bookings
Is it possible to have an option to categorize services in MS Bookings page such that if i have a lot of services, i can group them into categories/sub-categories and the clients will not anymore scroll down to the entire list just to look for the service he needs. Although a work-around of doing color coding or naming convention or re-arranging services is suggested by copilot, it still is somewhat an eyesore if there are a lot of services out there for the client to choose from. In other booking apps such as acuity and simplybookme, this is a basic feature.

All Services Disappeared
We have been using Bookings for several years for interview scheduling. Today when we went into the tool we no longer have any Services associated with our page. It simply says 'There are no services configured.' We had many, probably several hundred, services and now they appear to be totally gone. I work as an interpreter and appointments can take up from 15 minutes to a few days. Is there an option in Bookings to let customers decide on the time duration or time slot for an appointment? The process termsvcs on my server running Server 2016 continues to be a memory hog. We were consistently in the high 90% on memory usage, so I got rid of alot of unnecessary programs and services that we did not use hoping that would fix the issue. However, we continue to be in the high 90%, as termsvcs continues to grow in memory usage as I delete other programs and services. Is there any settings for termsvcs to help with memory usage? Hallo zusammen, wir haben bei uns ein Bookings-Kalender für die Azubis. Bei diesen sind die Ferien praktisch umgekehrt - d.h. dass während der Schulferien nicht frei ist sondern Vollzeit im Büro. Aktuell es ist so eingestellt, dass jeder Azubi seine persönlichen Arbeitszeiten hat und bei der Verfügbarkeit freie Tage als Schultage eingestellt sind, da sie dann nicht gebucht werden sollen/können. Wenn jetzt allerdings Schulferien sind müsste dann die Verfügbarkeit für einen bestimmten Zeitraum "erhöht" werden. Allerdings geht dies nicht indem man die Verfügbarkeit im Dienst ändert, da die persönliche Verfügbarkeit die des Dienstes übertrumpft. Mein erster Lösungsansatz: Den Spieß umdrehen, also die persönliche Arbeitszeit auf uneingeschränkt setzen, und im Dienst die Verfügbarkeit zwischen den Ferien auf die Schultage einschränken und während der Ferien offen lassen, sodass dort uneingeschränkt gebucht werden kann - Geht nur leider nicht, da die Azubis nicht alle an den Selben Tagen Schule haben. Hat einer von Euch da Ideen wie man die Verfügbarkeit des Dienstes über den persönlichen Stellen kann? Vielen Dank im Voraus Gruß Luca
