22 TopicsIntroducing Project Robin | New Feature
this one is a new flag you can enable: edge://flags/#edge-robin Microsoft Edge Version 91.0.852.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) I think, Project Robin is a way to show Windows Defender Application Guard windows as tabs, next to other regular tabs. because right now, when you open a new WDAG window, it has its own protected window, backed up by Windows Defender engine. this Project Robin might be a way to bring the 2 environments together in the same window. so far the feature doesn't seem to be fully implemented yet. when I try it, it takes me to https://dev.browse.trafficmanager.net/?header=0&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bing.com%2F&escape=newdomain&titlePrefix=0 and then nothing. it's exciting, waiting for future versions to see more changes.29KViews0likes4CommentsIntroducing Edge Master Password | New feature
it's this feature: it's controlled feature rollout available in Edge canary, was added few versions ago. this helps your passwords stay safe, by requiring you to enter your Windows Pin/Password when you want to autofill your credentials on a web page. using the same strong authentication method Windows uses to secure your login screen, secure your disks pre-logon etc. next in line is this I'm already seeing some bits of it in Edge canary, but not fully implemented just yet.12KViews3likes2CommentsNew security feature: Passwords Length are now Hidden in Edge Password Manager
Microsoft Edge Version 83.0.474.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) Now the Password Length is hidden in Edge browser's password manager: edge://settings/passwords Previously even if you couldn't see the characters, you could still see how long the password is: Now the Password Length is also hiddenSolved5.3KViews2likes11CommentsWill Edge always identify as Chrome?
Various websites often confirm new log-in attempts, including Google services, Ebay, and banking sites. I was just wondering if Edge, because it is now based on Chromium, will always identify as Chrome? This seems confusing to me. New in Microsoft Edge Version 82.0.421.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) Reason for doing it is more about privacy and stopping fingerprinting. edge://flags/ Freeze User-Agent request header Set the User-Agent request header to a static string that conforms to the current User-Agent string format but only reveals desktop vs Android and if the 'mobile' flag is set – Mac, Windows #freeze-user-agent to be more effective, also enable this flag: Reduce default 'referer' header granularity If a page hasn't set an explicit referrer policy, setting this flag will reduce the amount of information in the 'referer' header for cross-origin requests. – Mac, Windows #reduced-referrer-granularity More info: https://www.chromestatus.com/feature/5704553745874944 https://css-tricks.com/freezing-user-agent-strings/4.3KViews1like0CommentsWhy all of these HTML5 features are turned off in the last few builds of Edge canary?

I compared the current Edge canary Version 83.0.478.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) with the results of a previous version: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/discussions/very-impressive-edge-insider-canary-results-in-html5-test-plus/m-p/877787 Edge now scores 473 http://html5test.com/ I haven't disabled any flags, I'm using the same flags that I have always enabled, there are of course more flags enabled right now than there were before but nothing disabled by me. the score has been that low in the past 2 weeks, so you can say since the past 5-6 canary builds.3.8KViews2likes12Comments[Resolved] Adding cookies to the Allow list makes them bypass the 3rd party cookie blocking !?
When I turn on 3rd party cookie blocking, and add [*.]youtube.com [*.]google.com to the allow list of cookies this causes Google and YouTube cookies to be read and accessed in Reddit and other sites, Even though 3rd party Cookie blocking is enabled. Edge (or Chromium in general, since it happens on Chrome 88 stable too) is confused. that Allow list is for allowing certain cookies to enter or stay in the browser, the Allow list is Not a 3rd party cookie bypass list. my actual setup and configuration was more complex but I had to do lots of testing to find out why Reddit still detects and asks me to sign into my Google account when 3rd party cookie blocking is enabled!3.5KViews3likes9CommentsYou can now sync your favorites with Application Guard Window from Windows Defender
Microsoft Edge version 91.0.831.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) you need to enable this newly added flag: edge://flags/#edge-wdag-favorites-sync and then when you open a new application guard window, your favorites will be there. Learn more about Windows Defender Application Guard mode (WDAG) and it's security features here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security/threat-protection/microsoft-defender-application-guard/md-app-guard-overview https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/microsoft-edge-security-windows-defender-application-guard3.4KViews1like1CommentExtensions are remembered in Application Guard mode after fully closing it and the Edge browser
Version 81.0.410.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) I went to WDAG mode window, installed an extension from Microsoft add-on store, continued browsing the web for few minutes, then i closed the Application Guard window and closed Edge. waited approx 1 or 2 minutes, launched Edge canary again and started a new Application Guard window, then I noticed the extension that I had installed is still in there! that was absolutely not what I expected, the Application Guard window should flush itself and clear all of user data once closed.Solved3KViews0likes6Comments
