SharePoint Subscription Edition and Remote Share Provider, new RBS provider
Hello, everybody, I wanted to try the new RBS provider "Remote Share Provider", I follow the article https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/administration/remote-share-provider, but it fails me when I register in Sharepoint on the message that I need the Enterprise edition of SQL. Seriously? I deployed RBS for SP2016 on SQL Standard edition, and it gets up and running. There are no articles on this yet, other than the few official ones that seem inaccurate or unclear to me. Does anyone have any practical experience with installing and getting this Remote Share Provider up and running to share with the community? Thanks in advance PavelRBS Migration takes ages!
Hallo, wir betreiben eine SharePoint Farm mit 2 Servern. Der Erste ist eine Webfrontend und der Zweite ein Aplikation Server. In dieser Farm ist einen Datenbank mit aktiviertem Remoteblobstorage gehostet. Vor vier Wochen starteten wir das Auflösen dieses RBS (rbs.migrate()). Die ersten Tage (ca 3) lief es gut und aus den 4,7 Millionen Elementen wurden 1,5 Million. Leider dauert es seit dem extrem lange, sodass es für ca 600000 Elemente danach 3 Wochen dauerte. Seit 2 Tagen steht die Migration fast vollständig. Dabei sind noch ca 900000 Elemente offen. Gibt es eine Möglichkeit einzusehen was die Migration gerade macht und an welcher Stelle eventuell Probleme aufgetreten sind? Geprüft habe ich schon den Fortschritt der RbsID im DocStream auf dem Datenbankserver. Außerdem habe ich eventuelle Deadlocks auf dem Datenbankserver geprüft. Vielen Dank.
SharePoint 2013 - Remote Blob Storage and Deduplication / Shredded Storage Migration
Hi there, i only found 2 blogs mentioning that this is possible. But is it also supported? Anyone is using this configuration? I want to move most of our sitecollections "to" Remote Blob Storage. I already set it up on our DEV Server but not yet on our test server. But i do not find that much about performance and support of deduplicating the BLOB drive. Also - how can i change the shred size of existing files? At the moment they are set to the 64k design size. Best regards Stephan
