How to share page templates in Modern Communication Sites?
Hi, I would like to know if I can export a page template from a modern communication site and import it to a different one. I've seen that I can generate one template by saving the page as template and then when I create a new page I'm able to select it and create from it. Nevertheless, I would like to know if I can put that template in a different communication site so I don't have to create again manually across all my sites. I've tested the following things: Download the .aspx of the page template and tried to import it to different SitePages library, but I got an "Access Denied" message, eventhough I executed the following sentence: Set-SPOSite -Identity <Site URL> -DenyAddAndCustomizePages $false Tried to import it using Sharepoint Designer but got the same "Access Denied" message Tried to import it using PnP with Add-PnpFile method but got the same Access Denid message Create a Hub site with a template and associate another site to it, expecting that the hub site share page templates, but it don't share it Another solution that can work for me is to create a SiteScript with those pages layout, but it seems that is not possible at the moment. Any workaround that I can do to do it? Thanks in advance
Managed properties generated from taxonomy columns not containing all terms
Hello everyone, for a few weeks I have this problem at a clients' tenant which I cannot quite get solved. I have some custom Page Content Types in a modern communication site and added a few site columns which contain taxonomy terms. It took a while to get all of these columns mapped with RefinableString properties, but after a few days it seemd to be working out fine. Now changes within the pages (like adding additional terms) don't reflect within search. Only the terms that already were indexed still remain, but new ones aren't added. Sometimes no terms get added and sometimes 3 out of 7 terms from the column get added to the index. I verified this using the search query tool and see only some (or sometimes none) of the terms getting added to the managed property randomly. The corresponding pages have been re-published several times. I tried mapping some new RefinableStrings, tried Reindexing the site and the library and waiting 24 - 48 hours, but still no luck. Also owsmetadataalltagsinfo is often not showing any terms, even if other managed properties contain them. Is there a limit for mapped taxonomy terms?? As the environment is heavily based on taxonomy and highlighted content webparts for creating dynamic pages within SharePoint Online this is a huge problem for us. Is there any way to disable MoveTo option in modern site? Client don't want to display this option to the users because it is still not matured enough. We are having issue with MoveTo while moving the documents with Term store values. Term store values are not copying to destination when we use MoveTo option.
Understanding Groups vs Team Sites, need help
Hey everyone, I'm struggling to understand the differences between these two site types, as we are starting to roll out SPO through our organization. Just having a few questions before I write up our proposal to management Is there a difference between team sites and group sites going forward? Are groups just replacing teams? Is there a way to convert one to another? Is there a need to? Is there any method for creating Modern team sites or is there a difference between modern and "classic/2013 look and feel" sites? I found a number of articles about creating 'Modern' sites, but they are just creating group sites (like this using pnp powershell https://github.com/SharePoint/PnP-Guidance/blob/master/articles/modern-experience-customizations-provisioning-sites.md) This is what leaves me confused about the differences between the two. I'm hoping to use modern sites going forward, but don't want to roll out 2013 look/feel to users if something is going to change "soon", would rather just do it all at once. I'm feeling really confused and there is a lack of information that's easily available.
