Hi everyone, after restarting my PC from an update (KB5048652) I was just watching a video on internet and suddenly I've lost connection, I had no clue what was it, I was trying so much, tried all basic troubleshooting, restarting the system, the router, and even resetting my network settings, got nothing out of it, and then I figured out that my system was still connected to the internet but not getting any connections on any browsers only form Tor or activating my VPN so then I thought: "Hummm, I'm gonna trying to uninstall my ESET software and try reconnecting again" 2024-12 Cumulative Udate for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5048652), looks like having a conflict with ESET latest update. Not sure if here is the right place to post this message. I have a c++ program build with Visual Studio 2017. I uploaded the exe file to security intelligence, and got "No malware detected" for both client and cloud protection, but after a while when I clicked the "Rescan Submission" button, it instantly showed "Program:Win32/Wacapew.C!ml " under cloud protection. The strange thing is, I uploaded the same file again as developer, it finally showed "No malware detected" after period of time waiting. How could this happen, same file got different results, really frustrating.Windows Defender and how it performs against malware
I recently watched this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sE-xdb9hTqY testing how Windows Defender (+ Sandbox mode ) performs against real malware. it made me kind of worried. I really hope Microsoft improves it so that installing 3rd party AV software won't be the first thing a user should do after Windows installation. obviously I still and will keep using Windows Defender because I'm aware of the files I download but for the majority of people, that's not unfortunately the case. I think Microsoft should put Windows Defender ATP inside the normal Windows 10 pro editions by default for everyone. it's not a bad thing to make your OS a safe environment for your users. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/windows/microsoft-defender-atp?ocid=cx-blog-mmpc1.5KViews1like2Comments
