Microsoft Remote Desktop Mac client not working after upgrade to 10.8.0 error 0x3000064
Hi, I am using Microsoft Remote Desktop Mac client ( https://apps.apple.com/fr/app/microsoft-remote-desktop/id1295203466?mt=12 ) everyday to connect to remote app hosted on Windows servers. I upgraded to 10.8.0 this morning and the app does not connect anymore. It throws error code 0x3000064 It fails both when using imported RDP file, and when using Workspace connection. PLEASE put the detail/list view back in macOS RDC aka "Windows App"! I have literally hundreds of connections and I need the old detail/list view back. The GIGANTIC ICON VIEW is NOT AT ALL USEFUL. Further the <Search> results for a connection should show results regardless of whether the category is "folded up" or "folded out". If I'm searching for something, I want to find it. Add USB passthrough for Remote Desktop app
As a mobile developer I work with both Mac and PC. I use Remote Desktop to connect to a devbox from my Mac for developing Android apps. It would be really nice to have USB pass through on Remote Desktop app so that I can debug from the workspace to the USB connected physical phone.Microsoft Remote Desktop for Mac repeatedly forgets Windows 365 workspace
In the last week or so, I have repeatedly had to re-add the workspace URL for Windows 365 (the "subscription URL" collected from windows365.microsoft.com) to Microsoft Remote Desktop for Mac. The issue started with the previous version of the app, but has continued to happen about once-a-day since installing the latest version (10.9.0 build 2140) from the Mac App Store. Every time the workspace is re-added, it needs to be reauthorized by signing in via OAuth again and any custom settings for the workspace need to be reconfigured. Is this a known issue or am I the lone recipient of this particular cosmic annoyance? đŸ˜‚
Restore Pin to Menu Bar for RDP client Mac
After updating Mac RDP client to ver. 10, I found that I can't pin the connection center to the menu bar. Because I don't usually need the connection center after connecting to clients, I think managing clients from menu bar without having extra window is a nice way to manage connections. So please restore pin to menu bar function or something similar for Mac client ver. 10.Microsoft Remote Desktop for MacOS: Add Network Level Authentication Option to Settings
In the Microsoft Remote Desktop MacOS app, if you want to login with a Microsoft Entra (aka Azure Active Directory) account, you will get an error message saying you must disable Network Level Authentication (NLA). The error code I get is 0x3107. I am able to get around this error by editing the RDP config file and setting the enablerdsaadauth and targetisaadjoined values from "0" to "1". It would be immensely helpful if this option could be added in the Microsoft Remote Desktop GUI. It looks like all the functionality is there, it just needs a GUI checkbox. This option already exists in Windows Remote Desktop if you enable the "use web account" option on the advanced tab. I realize this is not an issue for Azure Virtual Desktop, because the config is downloaded and set up automatically. But for everyone who is using Microsoft Entra that may need to provide instructions for users to set this up, the option would make life a lot easier.
Notifications Passthrough to host OS from remote machine
I am using Windows App on MacOS to log in to A Windows 365 instance. I have access to Outlook and Teams on the W365 instance. Whilst audio is passed through, it would be helpful if notifications are passed through as well. Even if this was as simple as a badge on the Windows App icon to let me know I have a notification on my W365 machine.
Remote Desktop for Mac 10.9.4 often causes spinning wheel of death when copying from Windows machine
Starting in the last version or two, I frequently get the "spinning wheel of death" after using Remote Desktop for Mac to copy from the remote Windows client. This manifests when I switch back to the mac and try to switch to Slack -- Slack will be frozen for 30 seconds to several minutes with the colorful spinning pinwheel. I cannot see my printer on the remote desktop I connect to. The Printer redirection setting is enabled in the Windows app, and it worked with the same settings under an older iMac running Monterey. After upgrading to a MacBook Air M1, I can no longer see my printer when connecting to a Windows Server 2012 R2 system. Environment: Local Device: MacBook Air M1 running macOS 15.3.1 Remote Desktop Client: Windows App (11.1.2) from the Mac App Store Printer: EPSON L6290 with latest drivers and firmware Remote Server: Windows Server 2012 R2 Troubleshooting Performed: Confirmed printer redirection is enabled in the Windows app settings Verified that the printer works correctly with macOS Tested connecting to a Windows 11 laptop instead of the server, and printer redirection worked properly Previously used the same Windows Server 2012 R2 with an older iMac running Monterey and printer redirection worked correctly Downloaded an older version of the Windows App (older than v10.9.4) and was able to see the printer on Remote Desktop, but could not print (possibly due to Apple removed PSNormalizer in the Sonoma update) After some research on this issue, I discovered a Microsoft Learn post stating that printing from Remote Desktop broke after updating to macOS Sonoma (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/1379185/local-printer-redirection-to-remote-desktop-(for-m). According to the thread, the problem was supposedly fixed in Windows App v10.9.4 (2160). Are there any workarounds available for this specific scenario with Windows Server 2012 R2, will there be fix/patch for the WIndows app? This is very important for me because of my job, and I hope this issue can be fixed with an app update, as our company probably won't update the server because of this.
