The ability top open a Microsoft Remote Desktop session from the command line on a mac is something I've used and love for years. It still works fine in the RDP (v10.7.6) running on my older machine running macOS 10.15, but the same version on a new M1 machine running 12.2 doesn't open the exact same links. Here's a stripped down minimal example: open "rdp://full address:s:server.example.com" It launches RDP client and tries to connect to the indicated server on the x86 machine, but throws this error on the M1 machine: No application knows how to open URL rdp://... There was mention of a new URL format in recent release notes, but it seems very bare-bones. I couldn't find any way to specify the options the old rdp:// format allows. Can the old format still work on M1 machines at least until the new ms-rd:// format is fleshed out more?Workspace disappears from RDP client
Recently, my Remote Desktop application has been losing my configuration daily. I have to click "Add Workspace" and put the URL in again. Surprisingly, this even happens while I am actively connected to my remote workstation. I'm on Mac OS Ventura 13.4, and recently updated the client to 10.9.0(2140), hoping that would fix the issue. It did not.1.8KViews10likes4CommentsUnselecting "Use Mac shortcuts..." in settings does not work.
I have my mac keyboard settings set to use ctrl for copy and paste instead of the command key. No matter what setting I use in the Remote Desktop Client settings, it always passes command through to my virtual machine, whether I press command or ctrl. I simply want to pass my keyboard press directly through! This is very frustrating and makes using certain features in Visual Studio impossible as the only way to get to them is with a keyboard shortcut.PLEASE put the detail/list view back in macOS RDC aka "Windows App"
PLEASE put the detail/list view back in macOS RDC aka "Windows App"! I have literally hundreds of connections and I need the old detail/list view back. The GIGANTIC ICON VIEW is NOT AT ALL USEFUL. Further the <Search> results for a connection should show results regardless of whether the category is "folded up" or "folded out". If I'm searching for something, I want to find it. I don't want to fold-out 2374834788 groups for the search to finally show my result. Hi, I am using Microsoft Remote Desktop Mac client ( https://apps.apple.com/fr/app/microsoft-remote-desktop/id1295203466?mt=12 ) everyday to connect to remote app hosted on Windows servers. I upgraded to 10.8.0 this morning and the app does not connect anymore. It throws error code 0x3000064 It fails both when using imported RDP file, and when using Workspace connection. As a mobile developer I work with both Mac and PC. I use Remote Desktop to connect to a devbox from my Mac for developing Android apps. It would be really nice to have USB pass through on Remote Desktop app so that I can debug from the workspace to the USB connected physical phone.1.4KViews22likes3CommentsMicrosoft Remote Desktop for Mac repeatedly forgets Windows 365 workspace
In the last week or so, I have repeatedly had to re-add the workspace URL for Windows 365 (the "subscription URL" collected from windows365.microsoft.com) to Microsoft Remote Desktop for Mac. The issue started with the previous version of the app, but has continued to happen about once-a-day since installing the latest version (10.9.0 build 2140) from the Mac App Store. Every time the workspace is re-added, it needs to be reauthorized by signing in via OAuth again and any custom settings for the workspace need to be reconfigured. Is this a known issue or am I the lone recipient of this particular cosmic annoyance? đŸ˜‚8.2KViews21likes19CommentsRestore Pin to Menu Bar for RDP client Mac
After updating Mac RDP client to ver. 10, I found that I can't pin the connection center to the menu bar. Because I don't usually need the connection center after connecting to clients, I think managing clients from menu bar without having extra window is a nice way to manage connections. So please restore pin to menu bar function or something similar for Mac client ver. 10.653Views12likes8Comments
