Microsoft Edge Version 87.0.654.0 (Official build) dev (64-bit) (This could be a controlled feature rollout meaning only available to a subset of insiders) this is the new view you get when you click on favorites button on Edge toolbar and once you click on that Pin icon, the sidebar will show up I love this mechanism and implementation, very neat and smart! thanks also the favorites menu no longer closes when you open favorite sites in new tabs, something I know a lot of people asked for.21KViews8likes37CommentsAdd the option to open favorite items in installed Edge apps
to clarify what I'm referring to: I have YouTube website installed as an app in Edge browser when I go to YouTube.com from main Edge window (Not the pinned website or PWA), and right-click on a link, I get this option which lets me open the link (in this case it's a video), in the pinned YouTube app. but when I right-click on the YouTube favorite item in the favorite bar, I don't see this option. it's missing from there. it makes sense to add the same option in favorite items right-click menu too. This is Version 82.0.449.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) the nature of this bug prevents me to properly send it using feedback button on Edge browser, so I really hope someone from Microsoft will take this manually and let the team know about it. thank youSolved1.3KViews6likes2CommentsInclude Microsoft Edge favorites in Windows Search results
When searching in Windows Search, include Edge favorites in the search results. use the description, title or domain name of favorite sites. this might be something that Windows shell team need to cooperate with Edge team, so please upvote this feedback in feedback hub too: https://aka.ms/AAav9s4 (need to be a Windows insider)1.8KViews5likes2Commentscollection topic: favorites sidebar/flyout
A main feature of the legacy Edge is the sidebar/flyout for favorites. There are many feature requests for that feature in this forum. Here is a list of conversations I have found so far: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/discussions/favorites-sidebar/m-p/437436 https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/discussions/feature-request-sidebar-for-favorites/m-p/1197171 https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/discussions/please-bring-over-the-classic-edge-favorits-experience-with-pin/m-p/1019910 https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/discussions/add-bookmark-flyout-right-side-menu-to-your-edge-insider/m-p/834297 https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/discussions/ui/m-p/408942 https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/discussions/3-great-features-from-vivaldi-browser/m-p/1269320 https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/discussions/put-favourites-on-the-left/m-p/429996 https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/discussions/favorites-sidebar/m-p/1314809 (added 2020-04-19) josh_bodner: Do the edge team plan to add this feature? Then please add it to the list of planned features. It could be add with the state "for discussion". Or do the edge team never want to add a favorites sidebar inte the new Edge? (I also have requested this feature via edge feedback function in the past!) HotCakeXhas linked a nice extension in this conversation: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/discussions/add-bookmark-flyout-right-side-menu-to-your-edge-insider/m-p/834297 Best regards.1.9KViews5likes3CommentsRequest: "Offline" Keep Favorite in Sync IE11 <-> Edge (Chromium)
The 'Legacy' MS Edge had a Group Policy that allowed an "offline" browser favorite Sync on a local system between IE and Edge: Windows Components/Microsoft Edge "Keep favorites in sync between Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge" For Enterprises that aren't leveraging O365 and account Sync (or for whatever reason can't) this would make for a smooth sailing scenario. Any possibility for implementation?1.5KViews3likes2CommentsEdge always open favorites in new tab is missing
Edge always open favorites in new tab has been removed, even if --enable-features=msFavoritesOpenInNewTabSetting is added to the launch command I don't understand why such a nice feature is hidden, or even not allowed for us to use, I'm disappointed, really disappointed, hurry up and add it back, no matter how you enable this feature I promise, if you add this feature back, there must be a lot of people who will come back to Edge330Views2likes8CommentsCollections VS Workspaces | two different philosophies of saving tabs
Collections and Favorites (of all these tabs I want all of them) The idea of these is that you want to save a set of tabs outside the normal opening and closing of tabs so that they are sort of safe or protected from losing them. Collections differs from favorites in that the tabs are not so important individually and can be saved on mass. An important aspect is that tab saving is somewhat permanent, removing tabs has to be done manually. Workspaces and Tab Set Aside (of all these tabs I want at least one of them) The Idea of workspaces and tab set aside is that you cannot be bothered to know what tabs are important and which are not at the moment and want to "set them aside" for now. No tab is important enough to have a permanent safe place but at least one of them is probably important. Tabs can be added and (more importantly) removed on a whim without manually removing it from its group (just closing a tab) please do not use one of these as a replacement of the other. While technically both "save tabs" they are completely opposite in their use.7.7KViews2likes0CommentsEdge Windows Search Integration - possible Windows 10 Timeline integration?
Microsoft Edge Version 91.0.831.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) it's a Controlled Feature Rollout Share browsing data with other Windows features When turned on, Microsoft Edge will connect local browsing data from this profile with the rest of Windows. Turning this feature on will help you find information from your history, favorites, top sites and recent tabs more easily using features such as Windows search box. If you turn off this feature Microsoft Edge will remove the data shared with Windows on the device and stop sharing any new browsing data from this profile. Learn more I'm on the latest Windows 10 insider Dev build and latest Edge insider canary, so far I couldn't see any sign of this feature working, it's very new, just added to Edge canary. so eager to find out more about this. I personally would love to see Edge history appear in Windows 10 timeline, just like Edge legacy's did. It's very interesting, I submitted a feedback for the exact same thing 2 months ago.2KViews2likes2CommentsEdge sync getting throttled after bookmark/favorites import
it's happening on Edge stable Version 81.0.416.58 (Official build) (64-bit) my other installed channel is Version 84.0.488.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) this throttle creates duplicate favorites on all other Edge instances that are in sync almost instantly. but i have to wait 5-6 minutes (depending on the number of favorites) until sync gets back to the normal status and duplicates will then be removed on their own. can this be improved and sped up? i don't think every user knows to wait that long and might go on and modify their data while Edge is working in the background which could lead to lost favorites. Thanks2.1KViews2likes1CommentShow the number of favorites/bookmarks in Edge in edge://favorites/
I want to know how many bookmarks/favorites I have (excluding folders), just pure favorite items but due to having multiple folders, It's hard to CTRL + A (select all shortcut) on each folder, add the numbers one by one to find out how many bookmarks/favorites I have. please add the number somewhere in here: edge://favorites/ everyone will benefit from it. also it helps to detect if any favorites are duplicated.4.6KViews2likes7Comments
